How to calculate your GPA
Enter the credit value and letter grade for each course. Course names are optional and empty rows are ignored. The result shows the term GPA, attempted credits, and quality points.
To estimate a cumulative GPA, also enter both your current cumulative GPA and the number of credits already included in it. Leave both optional fields blank if you only need the term result.
Grade points and credit weighting
This calculator uses an unweighted four-point scale. A and A+ are worth 4.0 points per credit, A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0, and the values continue down to F at 0.0.
For each course, grade points are multiplied by credits. Those quality points are added and divided by the total credits. This means courses with more credits have a proportionally larger effect.
Check your school’s policy
Grade scales and academic policies are not universal. Some schools award more than 4.0 for advanced courses, assign different plus/minus values, exclude pass/fail courses, or replace repeated grades. Withdrawals, incompletes, transfer credits, and remedial courses may also receive special treatment.

How does this calculator weight courses?
Each letter grade is converted to grade points and multiplied by the course credits. Total quality points are divided by total attempted credits, so a four-credit course affects the result more than a two-credit course.

It uses an unweighted 4.0 scale where A and A+ equal 4.0, A- equals 3.7, B+ equals 3.3, and the pattern continues down to F at 0.0. Schools may use different values.

Does this account for pass/fail, repeated, withdrawn, or weighted courses?
